Patient terms of service
These terms cover using Afya as a patient to find a doctor and, on the Telemed plan, to book an online consultation. They add to our general terms of service.

Who provides your care
The doctor or clinic you book provides your medical care and is responsible for it. Afya is an independent service that connects you to them and runs the booking and video tools. Afya does not practice medicine, gives no medical advice, and is not a party to your treatment.
Booking and eligibility
- You can search, read reviews, and contact doctors without an account. Booking a consultation asks only for your phone, your name, and your consent.
- The doctor or clinic, not any automated tool, confirms that an online consultation is suitable for you. A booking stays a request until a person confirms it.
- For a minor, or when you book for someone else, you provide the guardian or representative details the doctor needs. You confirm you are entitled to book on that person's behalf.
Fees and payment
The consultation fee is shown before you book, and the price you see is the price you pay. You pay the doctor or clinic through their own payment account. Afya never charges you, never holds your money, and takes no share of the consultation fee.

The online consultation
- Before the consultation you review and accept a consent that explains what an online consultation can and cannot do, who may be present, and how your data is handled.
- Consultations are not recorded. The live video and audio are not stored.
- An online consultation is not for emergencies. For a medical emergency in Oman, call 9999 or go to the nearest emergency department.

Your data and your rights
What the doctor writes in a consultation is visible to the treating doctor and to you only. How we handle your data is set out on the privacy page and, for health data, in the health-data privacy notice. You can raise a problem at any time through our complaints channel.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Sultanate of Oman, and nothing in them takes away a right the law gives you.
This document is published in Arabic and English. If the two versions ever differ, the Arabic version is the one that applies.
