Afya (عافية) helps people in Oman find a doctor and, where available, book a consultation. Here is how to use it, and how to reach us if you need a hand.
Getting started
Open the app and start browsing right away, no account needed. Search by specialty or describe your symptom, open a doctor's profile to read their details and reviews, and book when you are ready. You only sign in, with your phone number, when a feature needs your account.
Common questions
Do I need an account to use Afya?
No. You can browse every doctor and clinic as a guest, with no account and no sign-in. You only sign in if you want to book or use features tied to your account.
How does sign-in work?
You enter your phone number to sign in, then confirm a one-time code. Your phone number is the only personal detail we collect, and we use it only to run your account.
I am having trouble signing in. What do I do?
Check that your phone number is correct and try again. If you still cannot sign in, email us and we will help.
How do I find the right doctor?
Browse by specialty, or describe your symptom in the search assistant and it will suggest a type of doctor. You can then open a doctor's profile to see their workplace, specialty, and reviews.
How do I book a consultation?
Open a doctor's profile and choose to book. Booking opens a secure booking page for that doctor. Availability shown in the app comes live from our servers.
What happens in a medical emergency?
If what you describe looks like an emergency, the app immediately shows a full-screen prompt to call 9999, the emergency number in Oman. This check runs on your phone. Afya is not an emergency service and does not replace calling 9999.
I am a doctor. How do I claim or fix my profile?
Open your profile and choose to claim it, or email us. You can correct any detail or ask us to remove your profile entirely, free of charge.
How do I delete my account and data?
In the app, open the Me tab and choose Delete account to remove your account and the phone number linked to it. You can also request a copy of your data there. Or email us and we will do it for you.
