Dr. Megha Venkatraman

Dr. Megha Venkatraman is a highly experienced Senior Consultant in Fetal Medicine with over 30 years of extensive clinical expertise in Obstetrics, Gynecology, and High-Risk Pregnancy Management. She is widely recognized as one of the leading fetal medicine specialists in Muscat, Oman, offering advanced prenatal care, fetal diagnostics, and specialized obstetric ultrasound services. She completed her MBBS in 1983 and MD in Obstetrics & Gynecology in 1986 from Bombay University, India. She later obtained her MRCOG (2000), United Kingdom, followed by Subspecialty Training in Fetal Medicine at St Michael’s Hospital, Bristol, UK. She also holds a Diploma in Advanced Obstetric Ultrasonography awarded by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and the Royal College of Radiologists, UK. Megha has held senior consultant positions in Oman for more than two decades, where she successfully led fetal medicine and high-risk obstetric ultrasound services. She has extensive experience in managing complex pregnancies, performing detailed fetal anomaly scans, prenatal diagnosis of congenital abnormalities, fetal growth monitoring, genetic evaluations, and invasive diagnostic procedures such as amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling (CVS). Her patient-centered approach combines compassionate care, evidence-based medicine, and multidisciplinary collaboration to ensure the best possible outcomes for both mother and baby. She is known for providing expert counseling for parents facing complex fetal conditions and high-risk pregnancies. Megha is a Member of the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology (ISUOG) and previously served as a Board Member of the Oman Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology (2020–2023). She is also actively involved in medical education, ultrasound training, mentoring healthcare professionals, and advancing fetal medicine services in Oman.
