Dr. Baylis Vivek Joseph

Professor Baylis Vivek Joseph is an exceptionally accomplished and internationally trained Consultant Neurosurgeon with over three decades of dedicated service in clinical practice, academic leadership, and pioneering neurosurgical advancements. With a foundational background from premier institutions in India, Ireland, Australia, and Canada, his career is anchored by a 30-year legacy at Christian Medical College (CMC) Vellore—India’s first neurosurgical training center—where he served as Professor and Head of the Department of Neurological Sciences and Neurosurgery. His areas of interests are complex spine, Skull base, vascular neurosurgery, and functional neurosurgery. He has held senior leadership positions in Neurosurgery with an active interest in research and development with numerous publications and presentations, and is the recipient of the prestigious Sontag traveling fellowship.
